My name is Christian Robinson. I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember. Writing, drawing, and painting are my deepest passions. Alongside a handful of poems, my short psychological thriller Hapless was published in Field Journal, where I also served as a poetry editor. I aspire to write novels, illustrate their most resonant moments, and craft poetry that expands their worlds in small, vivid tastes. My goal is to merge these skills into a cohesive practice and master the art of storytelling.
Some of my darkest times have been eased by discovering artists who endured struggles similar to my own. That experience guides my work. When I blend my love of fantasy with reflections of real life, I hope to reach those who are struggling—to remind them they are not alone. I have lived through moments I thought I wouldn’t survive–yet I did, and those trials taught me lessons that now reflect through my paintings, illustrations, and poems. By channeling trauma and resilience into dark whimsical realms, I aim to provide worlds that are both easy to escape into and meaningful enough to grow from. My work serves as a window into who I am, what I’ve endured, and what I hope to offer others: relatability, inspiration, and the courage to imagine beyond pain.
